Results in Table 2 revealed that both C and T alleles are common in the studied population with approximately equal distribution. However, the patient group showed significantly (P value < 0.05) higher frequencies of both mutant T allele (65%) and TT homozygous mutant genotype

(41%) compared to the control group. This indicates that the T allele in the C3435T polymorphism is associated with and HL occurrence.
